It's almost a year since I posted in this blog. Lots of happenings occurred. Nanay, together with my brother Mark and sister Sr. Nenette, went to the US of A to visit our 2 other sisters, Cherry and Dayay, and their families. It was one final journey there for Nanay as she hurriedly traveled there knowing that her health was failing her physically. She succumbed to cancer on 17th October 2007, a month after she came back home. But before that her brother, Tito Ben the City Council Secretary, died after suffering a stroke just before his scheduled retirement in June 6, 2007 his 65th birthday. During those times in attending to Nanay's needs while sick in bed, I have to close my internet cafe. It has been my sole source of income since opening it in 1999. But I felt the urged to let go and move on to another endeavor. The year 2007 may not have been a good year for our family, but we have to go through it and move on.
I started working in government a couple of weeks now. With a Casual Status appointment, I will be in charge of a computer laboratory to be set up this summer. For now not much work but wait and feel my way on how it is to be working in government. I hope to contribute a little not thinking much of the meager salary government has to offer. But this job will widen my horizon as I face new challenges. Downside here though that my kids have to contend of only seeing me during off-office hours. They will get used to it. In fact, my eldest son Isko took it positively and shouted FREEDOM. Freedom from me nagging them not to do this and that.
Next blog will be about visiting my past as I look forward to a better tomorrow. Ciao!
